RACHEL IS AN EXPERIENCED BAGPIPE TUTOR AND PIPER FOR HIRE BASED IN EDINBURGH. A FORMER BAGPIPE INSTRUCTOR AND PIPE MAJOR AT JAMES GILLESPIE’S HIGH SCHOOL, RACHEL SPECIALISES IN BAGPIPE LESSONS FOR CHILDREN AND GROUPS.

 

SHE WAS ALSO FORMERLY A BAGPIPE TEACHER AND BAND INSTRUCTOR TO THE CITY OF ST ANDREWS AND CUPAR AND DISTRICT PIPE BANDS IN FIFE AND THE FINGER LAKES PIPES AND DRUMS IN NEW YORK, USA, GIVING HER EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH A LARGE VARIETY OF AGES AND ABILITIES.

 

RACHEL IS A PRIZE-WINNING SOLOIST WITH VAST EXPERIENCE OF PLAYING IN THE SOLO PIPING, PIPE BAND AND FOLK MUSIC CIRCLES. BETWEEN 2016 AND 2018, SHE WAS THE PIPER TO THE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS, PLAYING FOR GRADUATIONS AND NUMEROUS FORMAL UNIVERSITY EVENTS.

 

SHE IS ALSO A FORMER MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH PIPE BAND OF SCOTLAND, A COMPETITIVE AUDITIONED GROUP OF SCOTLAND’S BEST YOUNG PIPERS AND DRUMMERS, AND HAS 15 YEARS OF COMPETITIVE PIPE BAND EXPERIENCE, INCLUDING PLAYING IN GRADE 1.

RACHEL ALSO PLAYS AND TEACHES THE SCOTTISH SMALLPIPES, AS WELL AS SIMILAR BELLOWS-BLOWN PIPES SUCH AS THE BORDER PIPES.
